Department of Computer Science was established in 1999. It used to run a four degree program called BIS (Hons.). Later on BIS (Hons.) was converted in to Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA), a three year degree programme. The course is aimed to sync with fast-moving developments in the field of information technology and communication. It cater to provide IT Companies with expert professionals. BCA Course is an undergraduate program after 10+2 where students are prepared for various areas of computer applications including the latest developments in the industry. BCA course is aimed at overall development of the students to make them ready for higher education such as MCA and for opportunities in IT Companies as well. The department has earned two university gold medals. The department has 21 regular faculty members comprising of 04 Associate Professors and 17 Assistant Professors.

Department runs BCA programme in two shifts. There is intake of 120 students in first shift and 120 students in evening shift. The duration of course is three years.

Department of Business Administration & Commerce was established in 1999. The department is running following courses:

• MBA w.e.f. A.Y. 2022-2023
• BBA (General) [1st and 2nd shift]
• BBA (Banking & Insurance) [1st and 2nd shift]
• B.Com.(Hons.) [1st and 2nd shift]

It aims to make students develop core competency in key areas of business management. It covers various aspect of business to communicate, analyze situations, present own views in front of a large audience, take decisions using quantitative and qualitative factors, and develop a holistic view of the different functional areas of business environment. As per the curriculum, students go for summer training or internship for getting real life hand on experience on real life projects.

The B.Com. course is aimed to create competence in particular areas of Accounting and its various dimensions along with a wide range of managerial skills. The course curriculam includes in depth subject-matter expertise by focusing on the concepts that includes the knowledge of basic theories, principles, methods and procedures of commerce and accounting. The curriculum of the B. Com. (Hons.) degree course is rigorous and progressive, and prepares its graduates for careers in commerce and accountancy as well as for other professional roles such as economic, business and security analysts and opens gateway of opportunities in both higher education to pursue Master’s-level courses such as M. Com and MBA and professional courses in commerce and accountancy such as CA, CS, ICWA, CIMA, CFA and CMA etc.

The department has 54 regular faculty members comprising of 03 Professor, 12 Associate Professors & 39 Assistant Professors. The intake of BBA (General) programme is 180 in first shift and 180 in second shift. Similarly intake of BBA (Banking and Insurance) is 60 in both shifts. The intake of B.Com. (Hons.) is 60 in 1st shift and 60 in 2nd Shift.

Department of Education is running Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme since 1999. The B.Ed. programme is recognized by NCTE. The duration of B.Ed. course is 2 years from session 2015-2016. At present we have a well qualified team teachers who adopt all modern teaching methods of curriculum transaction to a batch of 100 students. We strive to equip the prospective teachers with appropriate teaching competencies, innovative methods of teaching and latest audio-visual techniques so that they can become effective teachers of 21st century. This effort of teachers reflects in the results of students and all these things make our Institute one of the most sought Institute in GGSIP University. The department has 13 regular faculty.

The “School of Law” has been started from A.Y. 2022-2023 with the following two courses:

• Integrated BA-LLB (05 years)
  • The academic curriculum of BA. LL.B. (H) at Department of Law, Maharaja Surajmal Institute is in consonance with changing world and in line with the spirit of globalization, recent trends in the society. The curriculum promotes interdisciplinary studies and integration between law, social sciences and humanities. With the unparalleled expertise of faculty members and its seat at the heart of national capital, the department attracts brilliant students from all over the country. BA.LL.B. (H) is a five-year degree program, which integrates Arts with Law. The present intake for BA. LL.B. students is 60 students.
• Integrated BBA-LLB (05 Years)

(H) is a five-year degree program, which
    integrates Law and Corporate Sector. The present intake for BB.A. LL.B. students is 60 students.

In addition, we have a rich print library with e-resources. We believe in giving the students a practical insight in addition to the classroom learning and hence Moot Court competitions, debates, group discussions, will be a regular feature in the Department. Our aim is to equip students to participate in providing good governance in democratic tradition and outshine the competition in all aspects of life.
